Bajwa and Faiz behind ‘no confidence movement’ against Khan, says JUI Chief
Pakistan Prime: Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman; a former lawmaker and chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam, has mentioned former Chief of Army Staff; General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and ISI Chief Gen. Faiz Hameed, saying that they were the men behind the ‘no confidence movement’ against Imran Khan; former Prime Minister of Pakistan.
“In the presence of former COAS Gen. Bajwa and Gen. Faiz, every political party was called to attend a meeting, in front of them, everyone was told to do so (proceed no confidence movement).” While giving an interview to Pakistani TV channel, Maulana strengthened Imran Khan’s claim that the establishment was behind the no confidence movement.
Maulana said that he was against the no confidence movement. He wanted to continue the political movement against Khan’s government.
“I was not in the favour of no confidence movement, but I joined them so that our unity (PDM) does not disperse. I sacrificed my opinion for them.”
He also accused the Pakistan Peoples Party of proceeding with a no confidence movement. “Gen. Faiz (then DG ISI) personally came to me, and said that ‘whatever you do within the system, it would be fine with us, but not out of the system’.
“By system, he meant inside the assembly,” said the JUI leader. “After PTI was dispersed, they said we have the majority now.” Maulana added.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s chief Imran Khan was ousted by a ‘vote of no confidence’ on April 10, 2022.
